HOVC Sporting Clays Classic

Thursday October 12, 2023 - The Premier Sporting Clays Tournament in Virginia

This signature sporting clays event is fun for both experienced shooters and novices. Corporate sponsors use the event to entertain clients and reward business associates. The courses are carefully laid out around the beautiful Heart of Virginia Council Scout Reservation in Goochland County, and consist of multiple stations with unique presentations. 

 Exciting News:  An Additional Course Added

New this year, shooters will have a choice of two courses. The traditional Field Course and the new Woods Course. The Field Course will be familiar to returning shooters.  It will feature 72 targets over 14 stations.  All the presentations will be report pairs.  The Woods Course will feature 72 targets over 12 stations. Half of the Woods Course presentations will be "true pairs" with the balance being "report pairs". - with a  higher challenge level than the Field Course.  Both morning and afternoon flights are available on each course.  Sign up to shoot one course in the morning and then sign up to shoot the other in the afternoon!

As always, it will be "first come, first served"! Therefore we encourage teams to register early to secure their desired course as each course is limited to 30 +/- teams.  Questions: call Ellen M. Milano at:  804-204-2610.

All proceeds support and grow Scouting programs in Central Virginia. Two flights are available:  AM and PM.  A hot breakfast buffet and BBQ lunch will be provided for the  morning flight.  The afternoon flight will also savor the BBQ lunch.  Both flights are encouraged to attend an afternoon celebration and  awards ceremony featuring a heavy hors d'oeuvres with cigars & adult beverages. There will also be multiple raffles for guns and other great prizes!  You do not need to be present to win the prizes.
